 Description:

Length 22cm, weight 45 to 50 g average.

Bright olive green and yellow body with the blue frontal band and wing makes it very typical. The two tones blue frontal band extended beyond the eye makes the difference from the rest of the group. The male colour is brighter and he often has a light orange patch on the belly.

The female is duller, with narrower frontal band and greenish-yellow abdomen.

Immatures are duller than female, adult plumage is acquired at 4 months.
